Transportation Supervisor Job Description :

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our team. The Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the safe and efficient transportation of children and families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management, compliance with regulations, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of those in our care during transit. 

Responsibilities: Transportation Management:  

   - Coordinate and oversee the transportation of children and families in compliance with DCFS policies and regulations. 

   - Develop and implement efficient transportation schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. 

   - Monitor the condition and maintenance of vehicles used for transportation. 

Supervision and Leadership: 

   - Provide leadership and guidance to transportation staff, including drivers and support personnel. 

      - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among transportation staff. 

Compliance and Documentation:  

   - Ensure strict adherence to DCFS transportation policies, regulations, and safety standards. 

   - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to transportation activities, including logs and incident reports. 

   - Collaborate with DCFS officials to address and resolve any transportation-related concerns. 

 Safety and Emergency Preparedness: 

   - Implement and enforce safety protocols for transportation activities. 

   - Provide training on emergency procedures and ensure staff are well-prepared to handle crisis situations during transit. 

   - Conduct regular safety audits of vehicles and transportation facilities. 

 Collaboration with Case Management Team 

   - Work closely with DCFS case workers and caregivers to coordinate transportation needs. 

- Communicate effectively with families to address concerns and provide updates on transportation services. 

   - Collaborate with external partners, such as transportation contractors, as needed. 

  Qualifications:  

 - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in transportation management is a plus. 

- Proven experience in transportation supervision or management, preferably in a DCFS or child welfare setting. 

- Knowledge of DCFS regulations, transportation safety standards, and relevant state laws. 

- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 

- Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
