This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and site engineering projects, along with construction inspection. To be considered for our Transportation Engineer opportunity, we are seeking candidates who meet the following basic qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. + EIT certification desired, PE preferred. + A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and designing transportation and/or municipal projects. + Experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer. + Highway Technician Certifications preferred. + Experience with MicroStation software. As a Transportation Engineer, enjoy job duties that may include: + Assistant Resident Engineer/ Resident Engineer. + Construction inspection of IDOT, Tollway, county or municipal projects. + Assist in the field inspections of roadway and utility construction including sewer system, asphalt and concrete roadways. + Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt and aggregates. + Complete daily construction reports, manually or electronically. + Prepare As-Built drawings. + Design assistance on highway and site development improvements, including roadways, site grading, storm drainage, water main distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and other site utilities. + Preparation of local, state and federal permit applications. + Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications and quantities. + Other duties as assigned.
