Technical Operations Manager

Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operation Manager. This technology professional will interface with junior and senior operations personnel in the Jacksonville office 3 days a week. Operations is a critical function that manages middle office, settlements, stock record, and reconciliations. The individual should have strong SQL skills and experience with reconciliations. The role is responsible for taking user requirements, creating specifications, enhancing existing systems, and coordinating with a global team across all time zones.
Education Level:
Bachelors or masters Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform development tasks on reconciliation applications when applicable and be responsible for L1/L2/L3 support activities.
- Create SQL-based ad-hoc reports.
- Act as the face of technology for Operations users across multiple functions.
- Comprehensive involvement across all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including business requirement analysis, data mapping, validating data against requirements, building, unit testing, peer reviews, systems integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Analyze and develop test strategies, design test plans, and generate and execute test cases.
- Independently liaise with different teams to resolve dependencies on time.
- Foresee issues/risks and notify the project manager.
- Participate in configuration and release management.
- Communicate with stakeholders, end-users, IT team, and support teams.
- Provide L3 business support post-delivery.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
Experience/Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in financial services.
- Experience with reconciliation tools such as Intellimatch or Duco.
- Experience in Business Intelligence is an advantage.
- Proficiency in SQL database and script/procedure/trigger writing skills (mandatory).
- Understanding of reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of SDLC activities.
- Knowledge of investment banking products such as bonds, stocks, futures, options, swaps, warrants, other listed and OTC products, and aspects like cash, ledger, statements, SWIFT, etc.
- Knowledge of business analysis methods and best practices.
- Understanding of the trade lifecycle (Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office) and its events.
- Ability to work closely with end users, business analysts, and developers.
- Effective communication with all stakeholders and teams.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
