About The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of teens and young adults? As a Mental Health Support Staff member at Sandstone Care, you'll play a crucial role in helping individuals overcome substance use, addiction, and mental health challenges. You'll work under the supervision of experienced professionals, providing direct care and support to clients.

In this role you will:

  • Manage Daily Activities: Oversee daily floor activities and transport clients to and from scheduled events.
  • Ensure Client Safety: Monitor clients constantly, working with nurses and other staff to ensure their safety.
  • Assist with Daily Tasks: Help with mealtime setup, light laundry, room cleaning, and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct Admissions and Discharges: Handle the admission and discharge processes for clients, including paperwork, drug and alcohol tests, skin checks, and inventory searches.
  • Perform Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety checks on clients every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on their risk level.
  • Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with other Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) and nurses during shift changes and throughout the shift.

Qualifications
  • Education: 2 years of college education OR a high school diploma with 1 year of experience in the human services field.
  • Certification: First Aid / CPR Certified.
  • Experience: Previous experience with treating substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred. Training in verbal de-escalation and/or mental health is a plus.
  • Licensing: Holds a valid driver's license with no restrictions and is willing to transport clients in a 15-passenger van.
  • Background Check: Candidates must pass a comprehensive background check, including a Motor Vehicle Report.

Compensation and Benefits
