As the Recovery Specialist 1, you will work with our members during the collections process by providing resources and developing solutions to serve our members and protect the credit union.

Recovery Specialist 1 Essential Duties Include:

  • Monitor and follow up on delinquent and overdrawn accounts to cure loan delinquency and restore depository accounts to a positive status.
  • Assisted with various service functions for members, including verifying paid-off loans, preparing payoff documentation, and releasing collateral. Proof and preserve collateral information related to lien notations, UCC filing maintenance, and missing titles. Collateral Protection Insurance: monitor, track, and report.
  • Ensure all guarantors/co-makers are notified when loan accounts they are responsible for default and work with them to bring them current.
  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of all payment options and how to resolve related problems, such as all payrolls, PAD options, APGs, etc.
  • Research members' claims of error-related delinquency and assist with corrections.
  • Create a complete, accurate, and detailed collection log of all member contacts in collection software.
  • Complete necessary research on delinquent account holders, including retrieving new credit bureau data, current employment information, and skip tracing.
  • Assist with any collateral recovery issues as needed or requested, i.e., transport, removal of personal property, repair recommendations, etc.
  • Assist with Allowance for Loan Loss and charge-off recommendations.
  • Recommend when collateral recovery efforts or any other action is necessary to protect the interests of the Credit Union.
  • Assist and prepare legal documents, such as repossession titles, small claims dockets, bankruptcy and reaffirmation agreement information, etc.

Full-time role, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. This is not a remote opportunity. Pay range is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements:

Recovery Specialist 1 Skills & Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage difficult or emotional member situations.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities, work cooperatively, and display a commitment to excellence.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of the following computer software: Contact Management Systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.

Recovery Specialist 1 Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year to three years of similar related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
