Who we want to join our team:
The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an early to mid-career individual to support our existing System Engineering activities in the exciting NASA project Near Earth Observation Surveyor (NEOS). SDL is playing a key role in developing, assembling and testing sub-systems into a full instrument. SDL is seeking an individual with formal training and working knowledge of systems engineering practices as it applies to the aerospace industry. You will be joining an experienced and established team who has successfully completed CDR(s) and rigorously developing flight articles. You will regularly interface with internal and external stakeholders, observe and participate in fabrication, assembly, and testing operations. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a system engineering or closely related role
  • Working knowledge of system engineering verification activities and requirements management
  • Ability to generate and follow technical documentation
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in systems engineering or related field
  • Spacecraft/payload development experience
  • Understanding of space environment
  • Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure, Team Center SE Etc.)
  • Significant presentation preparation and delivery
