POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wilson YMCA Youth & Family Center is dedicated to fostering community well-being and engagement. We are currently seeking a dynamic and community-driven individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Coordinator. Outreach Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's visibility within the community through strategic outreach initiative. A strong focus is placed on engagement in the Hartford community through programs, activities, events, and networking. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain a comprehensive calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and communication opportunities.
  2. Strategically plan and execute initiatives to maximize community engagement.
  3. Support Hartford community families with program registration support, follow up and onsite registration
  4. Cultivate and nurture relationships with collaborative partners, both new and existing, to strengthen community ties.
  5. Prepare accurate records and reports on the goals and outcomes, and tracking of impact of outreach efforts.
  6. Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives.
  7. Collaborates regularly with center leadership, Membership Director, and other related teams to relay what is needed based on the community.
  8. Ensures adherence to all YMCA policies and procedures regarding the safety, health and welfare of members, program participants, guests, and staff.
  9. All other related duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in branch committees as assigned.
  • Provide Cause Driven facility tours.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Preferred 3-5 years of experience in outreach activities.
  2. Strong experience in preparing detailed and insightful reports.
  3. Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms.
  4. Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude with a commitment to community development.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with keen attention to detail.
  6. Must understand how to build relationships and have strong interpersonal skills.
  7. Can lead a strong staff team that is focused on creating a welcoming environment and providing superior member experience for all members, at all times.
  8. Must have a proven track record and a passion for exercise, nutrition, healthy living and helping others live a healthier lifestyle. Additional skills in developing small groups, personal training, and group exercise are needed.
  9. Highly motivated with the consistent ability to meet/exceed goals.
  10. Self-driven with the ability to set effective team and individual goals and take ownership of results.
  11. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing contexts and priorities.
  12. Ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives, and cultures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move stand for 2-4 hours.
• Ability to remain calm, objective and respectful in potentially stressful
situations.

• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to travel to Hartford locations.
