Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Technical Inside Sales Representative to join our team Allied Instrumentation is a distributor of premium brands of process instrumentation, heat trace, ¼ turn valves, and heat trace that are used in the industrial processing market.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for using various systems such as NetSuite and Fresh Desk to work in a fast-paced environment, developing, delivering and following up on customer quotes and developing sales opportunities as well as supporting the outside sales team. The candidate should possess a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and have the willingness to learn and grow.


Candidate should possess skills in the ¼ turn valve industry. Candidate must be able to work autonomously and should be familiar with butterfly valves, ball valves, plug Valves, knife gate valves, and other types of valves. Candidate should also be familiar with automation of these valves with actuators, limit switches, positioners and other accessories that go along with these core competencies. Candidate should be familiar with using sizing programs to spec out potential valve opportunities. Process instrumentation skills are also highly recommended.


Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with outside sales staff to identify the technical needs of the customer and assist in the selection of appropriate products.
  • Develop, deliver, and follow up on accurate customer quotes in a timely manner.
  • Work with other departments to help fulfill customer needs.
  • Support the outside sales team in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Support the company to achieve positive customer outcomes throughout the quoting and fulfillment process.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment reacting to customer demand.
  • Maintain communication with outside sales staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Promote positive work environment and encourage collaboration as a team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • College Degree or Inside Sales/Technical Sales relative experience required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with all levels of company staff.
  • Proficiency with computer packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Acts independently and on own initiative with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in a clear and organized manner and respond professionally and appropriately to all requests.
