We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join the team located at our Affton location. In this role, you will oversee the scheduling and timeliness of our production process, ensuring raw material availability and seamless coordination with other departments. Your primary objective will be to ensure our products meet customer specifications and quality expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, you must be able to perform the following tasks satisfactorily. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, and reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
- Blueprint Review: Scrutinize blueprints for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards before distributing them to the shop for production.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage steel and parts inventory to ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands.
- Production Workflow Coordination: Organize and coordinate production workflows for multiple products, planning and prioritizing operations to achieve maximum efficiency and minimal delays.
- Resource Allocation: Determine the necessary manpower, equipment, and raw materials to meet production demands effectively.
- Job Monitoring: Oversee jobs to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
- Issue Resolution: Address any issues promptly as they arise, aiming to minimize disruptions to the production process.
- Output Tracking: Gather and analyze output information, including the number of finished products.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular status and performance reports.
- ERP Management: Keep paperwork and order information meticulously organized within the ERP system (Prophet21), manage BOM creation, and maintain transactions related to upcoming projects.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with quality control, warehouse, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Team Environment: Foster a collaborative and team-based culture across all functional departments within the company.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in production planning and scheduling.
- Strong understanding of production processes and inventory management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly Prophet21, is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with various departments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
