The Stefani Restaurant group is launching Tavern on Rush at 1015 N. Rush.


We are hiring Lead baristas with 3+ years of preparing coffee drinks. The ideal Lead barista will be a trusted, detail-oriented individual on the service team whom our guests rely on for genuine hospitality and stellar service. Tavern on Rush will feature 2 floors of upscale steakhouse dining, an energetic bar, an expansive patio, and private dining in addition to providing room service to the Thompson Hotel. 

You will need to possess: Bassett certification and an Ansi certified and/or Serv Safe Food Handler’s certification.


We are looking to hire Lead baristas at ($18 - $20 an hour plus tips).

Compensation:

$18 - $20 hourly

Responsibilities:

Barista Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests in a friendly manner and taking drinks and food orders.
  • Preparing and serving drinks such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks and tea.Maintaining cleanliness around the counter space of the espresso and drip coffee machine throughout the shift.Clean as you go mentality.
  • Restock coffee station with ingredients, garnishes, to go supplies throughout and at the end of the shift.
  • Strong technical barista knowledge and ability to teach other teammates how to maintain and operate equipment.Deep clean of steam wand after every use and group head to prevent milk residue buildup and bacterial growth.Clean drip tray accordingly as well.
  • Daily removal of any pieces of the drip coffee equipment such as nozzle and filter basket to ensure drip coffee container contains grinds.
  • Address any guest needs or concerns as soon as possible; communicate any complaints or issues with food or service to leadership.
  • Sweep and mop behind all coffee areas at the end of every shift, removing, cleaning and replacing matting each time.Follow health and safety procedures.
  • Work well in a team atmosphere and independently.
  • Self-motivated and friendly, able to work with a diverse team of peoplePerform other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests.Must adhere to All State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Qualifications:
  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
  • Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces.
  • Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments.
