Position Summary: The Credentialing Specialist will oversee the Credentialing process for providers working as Employees or Independent Contractors with BHS. These duties include:

  • Process credentialing and re-credentialing applications for healthcare providers
  • Review, verify, and submit credentialing applications
  • Set up and maintain provider information in an online credentialing database system
  • Track license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals
  • Maintain and protect the confidential records of all protected providers proceedings as required by law.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of medical credentialing experience; or Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist status
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
  • Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledgeable in the use of EMR systems such as AthenaOne
  • Ability to adhere to strict attendance and punctually expectations
  • Ability to attend to details ensuring accuracy in a timely manner
  • Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to identify and proactively solve problems
  • Ability to demonstrate Behavioral Health Solutions' core values and performance principles of compassion, teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, and quality service
  • Additional duties as assigned.
