Summary/Objective:
RDP&P is a fast-paced, team-environment kind of company that is growing and hiring quickly. We are looking for a candidate with advanced experience as a welder and in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment. We are a custom metal fabrication shop that works on anything from structural pedestals for the semiconductor industry to handrails for local colleges. We have two Oregon locations; The Forest Grove shop where this job is located, focuses on raised floors/pedestals and miscellaneous steel fabrication. The Joseph plant focuses on all our miscellaneous projects. A flexible schedule is a must. Crews will be working various hours depending on workload with possible mandatory overtime when required. OSHA-compliant work boots (paid for by the employee) are required. Pre-employment drug screening applies.

Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience, 3+ years welding in a manufacturing environment
  • Certifications are highly encouraged but not required
  • Experienced with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A keen attention to detail is a must
  • Decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills required
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
  • Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols are a plus
  • Proficient in using hand tools and other production equipment as needed
  • Capability to bend over, crawl underneath, crouch beside, or climb over work projects
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time during the day

Duties Include:

  • Welding certifications are a plus, but not required
  • Ensure product conformity
  • Analyze parts of final product to ensure proper measurements are taken to certify products that meet customer expectations and company standards.
  • Administers programs and processes to ensure production quality standards are consistently met in all metal fabrication manufacturing processes
  • Inspect and test related production processes for quality assurance and compliance with standards and specifications for all metal fabrication.
  • Maintains records for the efficient operation of the RDF&P Quality System
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the members of the QC Team
  • Assists QC Manager in maintaining records of Internal and External Audits and Quality Inspection visits.
  • Prepares quality documents and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations
  • Assists in the maintenance of original sets of policies and procedures, plus updating them as needed
  • Proactively assist our shop and/or Project Managers in seeking solutions to prevent problems or mistakes
  • Supports shop quality initiatives as needed
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in metal fabrication quality management; reading professional publications; and maintaining personal networks
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Any extra time in your day will be spent as a fabricator fitting and welding jobs as part of the team.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:
Office and Shop-The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and appropriate attire is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the day.
  • Able to use hand tools and other production equipment as needed.
  • Ability to bend over, crawl underneath, crouch beside, or climb over work projects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time during the day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm with possible mandatory overtime when needed. We also have a part-time position, Monday through Friday, 5 pm - 9 pm. These schedules may vary.
