Responsibilities:
  • Put pesticide on greenery when needed for weed control
  • Keep flower beds looking pristine with a sprinkler or irrigation system
  • Complete detailed daily reports of work
  • Make sure lawn care, groundskeeping, and lawn maintenance duties are completed including mulching, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, raking, edging, and pruning

Maintain landscape property-wide by:

  • Trimming trees and shrubs
  • Cutting grass
  • Keeping weeds controlled
  • Debris cleanup
  • Ensure that the main entrance is kept clean
  • Maintain landscape irrigation system and program timer clocks
  • Keep the shop organized and stocked
  • All other duties as assigned or needed by Supervisors
Qualifications:
  • Driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the work site
  • Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic
  • In good physical condition with excellent health
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Strong working knowledge of hand tools and maintenance equipment including edgers, blowers, clippers, chain saws, rakes, hedge trimmers, and lawnmowers
  • Creative troubleshooting ability
  • Trustworthy, punctual, reliable, coachable, self-starting, communicative
  • Respect for the environment
  • In good physical condition and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Experience working with landscape equipment including riding and walking behind lawnmowers, chainsaws, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sidewalk edgers, weed trimmers, sprayers, and motorized golf carts
  • Available to work at least one weekend day on a weekly basis
  • Reliable to work full time, 40 hours a week on-site, mostly outdoors

In 1951, the Casa de Paz y Bien began as a Catholic retreat center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Now, as the Franciscan Renewal Center (still affectionately called the Casa) we offer opportunities for spiritual growth, healing and transformation, and service to others.

The Casa was founded by and is today an active religious community of the Order of Friars Minor, following the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi.
