The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing various accounting, bookkeeping, and financial duties related to fiscal services. This includes keeping financial data updated on a daily basis; processing expense vouchers and receipts; purchasing; processing client related expenses; posting entries; processing payroll, A/P and/or A/R invoicing; managing the processing of vendor payments; and maintaining related systems and vendor relationships.

The candidate should have the following:

  • Ability to work independently and self-manage daily tasks and time requirements
  • Excellent math skills with ability to calculate figures
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work on an established schedule
  • Ability to use office equipment such as fax machines, copiers and printers
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy and completeness while working with detailed information and data
  • Experience with computer software programs and/or other digital applications
  • Team player who can collaborate well with co-workers
  • Minimum of Associates Degree or 2 years of non-profit bookkeeping experience
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and through correct written grammar
  • Bilingual a plus
