Job Description: Senior Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Vice-President Human Resources & General Affairs

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Human Resources Manager is the main HR business partner for OCI Solar Power. They are responsible for contributing and supporting the strategic and operational Human Resources needs of the organization. The Senior Human Resources Manager plans, directs, and coordinates human resources department functions to ensure the organizations are well positioned to achieve the overall business goals. They work directly with the organization’s leadership, managers, and employees. The Senior HR Manager is responsible for all aspects of human resources to include: employee relations, employee development, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, and organizational development. They are also responsible for overseeing recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of employees and contractors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides support to departments with the implementation, administration, and delivery of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Builds strong and trusted relationships with executive leaders, managers, employees, and third-party providers.
  • Partners closely with executive leaders and department managers to ensure the consistent and fair resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Provides counseling to leaders on managing performance issues and partners with them on corrective actions and resolution.
  • Coaches Managers in their communication, feedback, recognition and interaction responsibilities with employees.
  • Assists managers with improving employee performance by identifying and evaluating potential solutions.
  • Develops and implements human resources policies and procedures; answers questions and provides guidance to department managers and employees regarding policies and procedures.
  • Assists with change management, coaching and development of company leaders.
  • Applies HR strategies around employee engagement, employee relations, and employee culture to positively impact the company.
  • Develops and implements programs to promote employee engagement and retention.
  • Participates in meetings within respective departments to proactively develop solutions to support business strategy and to establish and maintain productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Oversees all recruitment sourcing and candidate screening activities.
  • Ensures new hires and contractors receive the appropriate orientation and complete the required trainings within designated timeframe.
  • Recommends, evaluates, and participates in training and development for all employees.
  • Administers worker’s compensation program and unemployment compensation procedures by filing appropriate claims/reports in a timely manner.
  • Administers benefits programs to include issue resolution, change notifications, responding to inquiries, and communicating information to employees.
  • Responsible for processing payroll and completing post-payroll activities within specified timelines.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning all areas of human resources.
  • Provides support for any internal or external HR audits.
  • Responsible for developing and supervising any direct reports and temporary HR staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience with UKG HR and Payroll system or other related HRIS is required.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and explain various human resources topics.
  • Ability to influence and obtain buy-in at various levels.
  • Must be credible and approachable.
