Position Overview

The goal of the Production Operations Assistant Manager is to be responsible for performing daily operational functions and supporting the Production Operations Manager oversee the entire Data Center Department. Primary focus is on day-to-day processing of checks and electronic transactions. This individual assists in ensuring the accurate, timely processing and settlement of transaction, account, and client data through the Bank’s core transactional computer systems, and the financial technology service providers for payment processing and the delivery of digital banking services. Oversees the automated and manual tasks necessary to complete daily processing, as well as required weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual production activities. Participates in the planning, coordination, design, quality assurance, and implementation activities related to the proper execution and operation of applications and technologies within the bank’s core banking environment to support transaction and account processing. Provides leadership in planning and execution of the Bank’s BCP/DR plan to maintain the resiliency of our banking systems and processes. Coordinates with the appropriate IT, Operations, and third-party staff to promptly investigate and resolve incidents, errors, processing exceptions, and other issues that impact a stable and secure operating environment. Ensures that the online systems and other defined systems are available in a 24 x 7 environment, based on the Bank’s requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently delivers outstanding client service; providing premiere client satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
  • Acts as a cultural ambassador to internal and external clients, providing a professional, exceptional, and supportive experience with each interaction.
  • Processes transactional data from banking offices and third-party affiliates.
  • Runs scheduled jobs according to priority and follows daily checklists to ensure processes are finished to completion.
  • Creates and terminates user accounts, addresses issues with locked accounts and resets passwords.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots computer systems and communications between banking core and applications.
  • Responds to data center alarms, provides solutions and works with vendors for on-site and remote upgrades and repairs.
  • Assists with problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues with integration solutions arise
  • Assists with the ongoing testing, development and implementation of the Corporate Disaster Recovery plan for Core Systems Restoration
  • Performs training functions on an as-­needed basis for specialized Fiserv software applications. Authors and maintains computer policies for specialized software applications and computer systems
  • Provides supervision and leadership for other members of operations staff.
  • Flexibility and availability to work “after normal hours” and some weekends when required.
  • Supports the bank’s change management processes and acts as the bank’s change manager when the Production Operations Manager is not available.
  • Serves as a backup for the Production Operations Manager, whenever necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the use of mainframe computer hardware.
  • 5+ years of experience with software use and installation, including operating systems, spreadsheets, word processing, desktop publishing, and database functions.
  • 1 year of previous leadership or management experience in a Data Center or bank environment.
  • Prior experience with IBM iSeries mainframe operating system and IBM Power Systems.
  • Knowledge of Fiserv Core systems and specifications.
  • Knowledge of electronic banking.
  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and data structures, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Data Center processes, procedures, and automation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some knowledge of Command shell and/or Powershell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-Year Degree and/or experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent combination of education.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging experience in a user environment.
  • Prior computer operations, systems, programming, and telecommunication experience.
  • Experience with SMA OpCon automation tool.
  • Third Party applications which integrate with the Core system.
  • Prior experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience using, monitoring, and/or supporting middleware products such as Mulesoft.
  • Database management and backup.
  • Familiar with critical bank operational processes and basic accounting principles.
  • Familiar with ITIL/IT Service management principles.
