Caltrol is Hiring a Lifecycle Services Technician in Benicia, CA

We are looking for a full-time Service Technician to join our team. You will provide field repair and shop services for valves, actuators, and general valve instrumentation, including maintenance, repairs, new installations, calibrations, and diagnostics. Our ideal candidate is a high energy, self-starter who also has a background in process controls.

**You must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record and be able to pass a background check to obtain a TWIC card.**

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is** $32.00 - $36.00 p/hour.** This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Repair valves, actuators, and instrumentation in the Caltrol Shop.
  • Perform Shipping & Receiving functions for valves and valve parts for the Caltrol Valve Shop.
  • Inventory management.
  • Local customer pick-up and delivery services for valves.
  • Maintenance of Caltrol Valve Shop and equipment.
  • Perform some field labor.

What we're looking for:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a field service technician, instrumentation technician, and/or demonstration of general electrical/mechanical competency.

  • Strong knowledge of valve actuators, Pneumatic actuators, and Hydraulic actuators.

  • Previous experience with shipping, receiving and inventory management.

  • Ability to read, interpret and evaluate written work instructions, P&IDs, and technical manuals.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge.

  • Welding experience preferred.

  • Must be able to acquire a TWIC card.

  • Must be able to stay active on ASAP/DISA background and drug screening.

  • Must posses and maintain a Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Travel

Ability to travel out of town/state for work up to 40% of the year. This position involves travel to various Caltrol, Emerson and customer sites. Some overnight travel required.

**Physical Demands:**

  • Must be able to wear maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction which may include but is not limited to hardhat; safety glasses; fire resistant clothing; safety-toed footwear; hearing protection; respiratory protection, etc.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
  • Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Hazards: Potential exposure to chemicals. Proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to understand and safely use standard hand tools.
