- Transportation Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of deliveries, ensuring compliance with delivery timelines and customer requirements.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with warehouse managers to monitor inventory levels, manage stock replenishment, and ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage logistics budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing logistics expenses.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends, monitor performance metrics, and generate reports for senior management.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively address and resolve any issues related to transportation, delivery delays, or inventory discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles, transportation regulations, and industry best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and senior management.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or similar are highly desirable.
- Experience in Industry: Previous experience in [specific industry, e.g., retail, manufacturing, e-commerce] logistics is preferred.
