We are a food production company with wholesale distribution and physical retail locations, based in Brooklyn. This role on the Operations Team is in the Logistics Department. The Manager in this role should have experience and appreciation for systems and efficiency. There are administrative, production and sales-related duties in this role, including overseeing the transportation team and interfacing with customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a team of drivers to ensure efficient transportation operations.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve optimal outcomes across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to create, implement, and optimize systems for logistics and supply chain management.
  • Work with the Operations team to continuously improve the customer experience through effective logistics and delivery services.
  • Create daily schedules and instructions for drivers and logistics staff.
  • Oversee AM delivery operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
  • Ensure delivery timeliness and execute problem-solving when necessary to resolve any issues.
  • Work across departments to uphold quality control practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze logistics performance regularly and take action to course-correct when needed.
  • Manage scheduling and payroll reporting for direct reports.
  • Train direct reports on standards of customer service and ensure they are equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Assist in the sales process by providing logistics and delivery information to customers.
  • Manage payroll related to the department and ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Respond to order inquiries and communicate with partners to resolve any issues or updates.
  • Provide on-site customer training and service to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is up to date and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of Operations or Logistics-specific experience, preferably within a food operation.
  • Previous managerial experience of a team of at least 3 people.
  • NYC DOHMH Food Protection Certificate (NYC Food Handler's License) preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, G-Suite required; ERP and routing software experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Ability to reach, bend, squat and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Early morning and weekend availability is required.
Compensation:

This position is an overtime-exempt salaried position with the expectation of working approximately 45 hours/week. The salary range for this role is $70,000-$80,000, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:

  • 10 days Paid Time Off.

  • Healthcare reimbursement available (not to exceed top of the salary range).
