POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Intern is responsible for performing and assisting with various administrative tasks and projects to support the Human Resources Team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to the department by assisting with various administrative tasks and projects.
  • Assist with preparing onboarding, offboarding, and employee change paperwork and materials.
  • Help maintain employee records and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Aid in the documentation and investigation of employee complaints or concerns.
  • Assist in drafting employee communications and announcements.
  • Work closely with HR to coordinate employee training sessions and workshops and support the development of training materials and resources.

  • Complies with all charter, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the NYS Department of Education, Department of Health, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and currently enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor, or Masters program from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Interest in Human Resources Information Systems, People Operations, compliance, reporting, and metrics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of proper office procedures, including filing, answering the telephone professionally, photocopying, greeting all visitors warmly, and handling information with confidentiality.
  • Preferred experience working directly with students, in the charter, private, or public school environment.
  • Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred but not required.

KIPP Capital Region offers a competitive salary ranging from $38,000 to $42,000.

Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP Capital Region will evaluate and determine the step/level a new hire will be placed within our grade salary scale at point of hire.
