Randall Architectural Ironworks combines expert craftsmanship, cutting edge technology and passion for their trade to create and execute extraordinary designs. From concept to completion, skilled professionals craft custom metal manufacturing for building cladding (ACM, IMP, etc.) railings, displays, kiosks, signage and way-finding.

Randall Architectural Ironworks (RAI) is seeking a Skilled Custom Welding / Metalwork Shop Foreman to work in our Apopka, FL shop.



Position Summary


The primary responsibility for the Welding Shop Foreman is to direct the activities of welder/fabrication staff to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency within specified project work timelines relative to welding, cutting, rolling, shaping, bending, heating, or hammering metal to fabricate custom metal components.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to lead and train personnel in a custom welding shop.
  • Be a working, hands-on supervisor.
  • Needs to be able to perform highly specialized welding/fabrication tasks.
  • Ensures company assets are maintained and repaired in accordance with the standards set forth in the operational manual and predetermined maintenance schedules.
  • Tracks and verifies what jobs are being performed and the time frame it takes to complete. Also, tracks and verifies other welder/fabricators' performance.
  • Plans the sequence of operations for welder/fabricators.
  • Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project specifications/requirements.
  • Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying math skills, allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metals.
  • Coordinates the set up and operation fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs other duties and tasks assigned by RAI Management.

Desired Qualification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and reference check.
  • 2+ years of documented Shop Management experience.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work occasional flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.

Physical Requirements

You must be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time. You must also be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, be able to respond quickly to sounds, move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, see and respond to dangerous situations, safely climb ladders while carrying tools/items, work in extreme weather, and properly wear personal protective gear.
