 Position SummaryPosition manages all aspects of Field Service operations for Rental Service Branch and/or District. Technical support and asset management are provided to internal and external customers.Position Duties/Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws as they pertain to staff and customers within the department premises or in the field. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are in excellent, safe operating condition. Responsible for department safety performance and achieving safety targets.
  • Direct, motivate, and provide leadership for staff. With input and guidance, define and implement the appropriate organizational structure and staffing level for the operation.
  • Maintain and coordinate the field service function, managing the service and repair of rented and customer owned equipment in the field while implementing and executing the functions of price, quality and turn-around. Assure strong relationships with customers by timely follow-up with quotes, phone calls, questions etc.
  • Constantly improve work processes to increase customer satisfaction, efficiency, profitability and employee productivity and satisfaction.
  • Assist in trouble shooting and repair of equipment as needed to promote and support timely repair of equipment and the coaching of technician.
  • Responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Maintain good relationships with all customers.  Ensure personnel adhere to the philosophy of Price, Quality and Turnaround so that internal and external customers develop a high degree of trust and respect.     
  • Ensure that Field Service vehicles are well maintained, and Field Technicians are projecting a professional image of the company at all times.
  • Meet all safety goals of the department and promote a safe work environment through good housekeeping, elimination of safety hazards, responsiveness to employee suggestions etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for managing, directing, and motivating staff. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, conducting performance evaluations, assessing skills and competencies, and administering company policies and procedures.
Position RequirementsRequired: 
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a college degree or related experience.
  • 8 years’ combined experience in shop and field supervision and management.
  • Previous experience as a working mechanic
  • Broad Rental background
Preferred: 
  • 10 years’ experience in shop and field management with heavy construction equipment
