Lab Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced, a highly driven, and motivated, Lab Technician that understands the PCR process to work in our busy Urology lab.

Requirements:

Responsibilities include:

· Independently perform PCR runs, analyze data, and prepare technical reports according to standard operating procedures

· Knowledge working with Cytology and FISH

· Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.

· Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of clinical assays

· Maintain equipment by performing assigned maintenance activities and troubleshoot unexpected problems with equipment

· Maintain a neat and clean work environment

· Perform proficiency testing to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies

· Follow laboratory policies and procedures such as attendance and time reporting policies

· Participate in routine laboratory tasks

· Provide support to other laboratory staff

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Lab Technician

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field REQUIRED

· 1-2 years of experience working with PCR

· Experience with King Fischer and QuantStudio5 machines preferred.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to write correspondence and reports.

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving a
