Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis role is open to C2C candidates only. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Installation and Configuration:

    • Install, configure, and customize Oracle databases in Non-RAC and RAC environments.
    • Implement Grid Infrastructure release 19c on Unix/Linux platforms and manage Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) cluster filesystems.
    • Add new disks to ASM disk groups and perform routine patching of grid infrastructure and Oracle RDBMS.

  • Security and Performance:

    • Set up secure Oracle database environments and conduct database performance tuning.
    • Implement robust backup strategies using RMAN to ensure data integrity and recovery.

  • System Integration and Support:

    • Utilize Linux administration skills to develop UNIX shell scripts and automate processes using Ansible.
    • Work collaboratively with the Database team and Unix engineers/administrators to support infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.

  • Advanced Configuration and Support:

    • Configure Oracle GoldenGate for replication, Oracle RAC, ASM technologies on Redhat Linux, and Oracle Data Guard for active and standby database modes.
    • Assist in the development and optimization of database solutions, advising developers and end users on best practices.

  • Strategic Initiatives:

    • Lead initiatives to adopt modernized architecture solutions, including hybrid cloud setups, and perform root cause analyses (RCA) for system issues.
    • Manage database encryption technologies and implement disaster recovery strategies that align with organizational objectives.

  • Special Projects:

    • Engage in extensive projects such as system migrations, new feature implementations, and provide expert assistance to enhance OTI's capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Professional Experience: 15+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering, with specific expertise in Oracle databases in a RAC environment.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Proficient in implementing Grid Infrastructure release 19 or higher on a REDHAT Linux environment and managing ASM cluster filesystems.
    • Experienced in Oracle database patching, performance tuning, and security setup.
    • Skilled in Ansible for automation and familiar with scripting in a Linux environment.
    • Strong understanding of Oracle Active Data Guard, Oracle Advanced Security Option, and Golden Gate replication.
  • Cloud Technology: Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS & Azure, is highly valued.
  • Leadership and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead team efforts, and manage high-availability production databases.
