Traffic Assistant

The Traffic Assistant will assist school children in crossing traffic intersections at an assigned post during the hours when children are entering and leaving school, and does related work as required.

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Operations, the Traffic Assistant requires vigilance in directing and protecting children during those hours when they are entering and leaving school. This position is a part-time one, requiring the Traffic Assistant to serve at an assigned post.

Logistics: Part-time 11.5 hour per week, Monday to Friday - 2 hours per day (7:45 am - 8:45 am &
2:30 pm - 3:45 pm)

Hourly Salary: $20.00 per hour

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), has superb attention to detail when completing large-scale rote tasks, and is devoted to providing a safe environment for students. The ideal candidate also has flexibility in providing the necessary supports for the team.

What You’ll Do:
  • Stop traffic at crosswalks near the school when the traffic light permits for the safety of school children only;

  • Assist children crossing the street going to and returning from school

  • Instruct younger children in the precautions to be taken when crossing the street.

  • This role is 11.5 hours per week, at very specific student drop-off and pick-up times. The hours for this role are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday - 2 hours per day

    • 7:45 am - 8:45 am

    • 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm
