Job Description:

As an Applications Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical interface between customers and Trystar. Supporting the Marketing and Sales teams, you will develop expertise at applying, configuring, using, and troubleshooting our power conversion products. You will serve as a technical expert for our Sales team, providing technical guidance and support during the design-in process, and assist customers requiring technical support after purchasing our products. For Marketing, you will write documents such as white papers, design notes, application notes and blog posts to address commonly encountered questions, introduce new products, and enhance brand recognition and positioning. You will support MarCom on marketing materials, website, and trade show display development, and attend trade shows to support the booth, meet with prospects and customers, and present on topics supporting Trystar’s business. In this role you will get to:
  • Develop deep product expertise and serve as the primary technical interface between customers and Trystar.
  • Provide technical review and guidance during the design-in process to support our sales efforts.
  • Help customers requiring technical assistance with our products.
  • Develop white papers, design notes, application notes and blog posts.
  • Provide technical assistance for marketing materials, website, and trade show display development.
  • Attend trade shows to support our booth, meet with prospects and customers, and present on technical topics supporting Trystar’s business.
  • Stay current on industry trends, product applications, market activities, product certifications and standards, and competitive trends.
  • Provide market and customer feedback for product improvements and new product development.
  • Develop market and competitive environment expertise and participate in new product definition and planning.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in power conversion, battery energy storage, or solar power system design engineering.
  • Analog, power, and digital circuit testing and troubleshooting experience, including hands-on debugging in the lab – circuit/product design experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with common laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, and signal generators.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with customers in a technical support roll is a plus but not required.

  • High comfort level establishing and growing relationships with customers, partners and internally.
