What would you do as a Behavior Specialist

As a new Behavior Specialist at Wasatch Behavioral Health, you can expect a dynamic work environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. Your responsibilities will include conducting behavioral assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing interventions, and monitoring progress for for our youth. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals in need.

Shifts will vary throughout the week, including weekends, to ensure coverage and support for our clients. Expect a fast-paced schedule that will keep you engaged and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. Adaptability and a proactive mindset will be key to success in this role.

What you need to be successful

To excel as a Behavior Specialist at Wasatch Behavioral Health, you will need some experience in Behavioral Health or a related field, obtained through at least one year of post-high school education. General work experience of at least one year is also required. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary skills will be considered. Candidates with personal experience in recovery or treatment may substitute this for the educational or work experience requirements. Additionally, a valid driver's license is a must for this role, as you may be required to travel to different locations to provide services to our clients.

These qualifications will prepare you to effectively support individuals in need and contribute to our mission of delivering quality behavioral health services.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Education and Experience:
  • A. High school diploma or GED;
  • AND
  • B. One (1) year post high school education in social work
  • psychology or a related field
  • AND
  • C. One (1) year of general work experience;
  • OR
  • D. An equivalent combination of related education and experience from lines B and C. Up to two years of personal experience with recovery or treatment may be substituted for the post high school education or general work experience requirements.
  • 2. Must have a valid Drivers License

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
