These are not things that any one Lion, club or district can do alone. But together, we can. We are currently looking for a Lead and Major Gifts Specialist to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.


 

Position Highlights:

The Lead and Major Gifts Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating fundraising and philanthropic activities of Individual Lead and Major Gifts, under the supervision of the Strategic Giving Manager.

Maintains and expands current LCIF lead and major donors, identifies new prospects through research, virtual and in-person cultivation events, and networking. Drafts proposals and conducts solicitations with lead and major donor prospects and in collaboration with Foundation staff and leadership. Develops and executes stewardship strategy for lead and major donors and builds retention and recruitment models at various giving levels.


 

What You’ll Do:

  • Builds and manages a strong portfolio of prospects and donors, paying attention to the balance between discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Leverages existing relationships in order to create new opportunities by identifying existing donors with affinity and capacity to continue and grow support for Lions Clubs Foundation (LCIF) programs.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of organizational and global development priorities, lead and major donor relationships management, and stewardship best practices and trends.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of LCIF’s mission, grant making areas, available program data from grant reports and the unique role of Lions club volunteers in LCIF’s lead and major gifts program areas and initiatives.
  • Responsible for soliciting gifts ranging from US$25,000 and higher (US$1M+) from members and non-members with a strategic focus as directed by Strategic Giving Manager.
  • Works collaboratively with and in support of officers, trustees, volunteers, and other development staff to cultivate and solicit donors for Foundation priorities.
  • Monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.
  • Drafts communications materials including creating customized solicitation materials such as letters of request, proposals, donor identification forms, donor/partner recognition brochures, letters of intent/pledge forms, etc.
  • Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five and six-figure range.
  • Works collaboratively and strategically with the LCIF Executive Administrator, and other Association and Foundation staff.
  • Represents LCIF at select virtual and in-person conferences, Association events, etc.


 

We’re Looking for Someone With:

  • BS or BA from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional fundraising or related experience required.
  • Experience with major gift fundraising and proposal preparation required.
  • Experience living and/or working in an international environment.
  • Domestic and International Travel required; approximately 15% travel time.
