In this position, you'll assist in the overall operations of the company including but not limited to fiscal management, process improvement, creating efficiencies and finding growth areas, staff coaching & mentoring, contracts, building/facilities, state regulations, licensing, and all other functions to make the individual properties and the company successful. Responsible for all these aspects for a specified region of multiple properties to help assure success.

Regional Director of Operations job duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to the properties within the assigned region that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
  • Accountable for each property in the region to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, NOI, and business goals and objectives.
  • Administer all corrective actions needed to assist a property that is not meeting standards.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and full reports on the operating condition of the assigned region as needed.
  • Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for the region.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Ops and the other members of the management team to develop and carry out plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
  • Motivate and drive the leadership at the properties; contribute as a mentor and coach to leaders in the properties.
  • Adjust approach, communication style, and speed of service delivery & expectations to each person and each community.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the assigned region and company.
  • Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners.
  • Propel results for each property in the region in the areas of staff satisfaction, customer satisfaction, financial well-being, occupancy, and compliance.
  • Implement a proactive approach and educational support regarding property financials and guide Directors on the analysis of budgets, operations, and profit/loss statements.
  • Travel to properties a minimum of quarterly or as needed and as requested.
  • Promote property openings and support the acquisition of new properties.
  • Act as Interim Director and aide in managing and leading properties that are temporarily voiding a leadership position. This may include extended travel.
  • Take part in the recruitment & training of new Directors and community leadership of properties and management team members as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and senior leadership.
  • Recognize high-level, broad impacts, and outcomes when deciding.
  • Forecast needs in a dedicated manner to assist Directors and other team members in being vigilant and forward-thinking to help expect future needs.
  • Position covers properties in Lincoln, Hastings, Grand Island, and Kearney, so leaving near or between those cities is preferred.

Regional Director of Operations Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Health, Geriatrics, or similar field required.
  • 5 years in a management-level position within the senior housing industry preferred.
  • Experience in managing multi-tiered staff for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Administrative License in the State of Nebraska required or willingness to obtain one immediately.
  • Substantial working knowledge of all regulatory requirements such as state-specific requirements, OSHA, and fire codes, as well as any state or federal compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills, and the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Strong English communication skills are essential for seamless interaction with residents and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate disbursement of information and documentation.
  • Communicate with individuals at all levels within the company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work as needed including possible weekends and evenings.
  • Capacity to perform tasks independently and/or interact with team members at all levels and promote teamwork.
  • Recognize improvement opportunities and follow through as necessary.
  • Travel to properties annually and on an as-needed basis.
  • Outstanding people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
