Our client, based in Leesburg, Virginia is a leading technology services company focused on providing operationally focused solutions for select clientele within the United States Government (USG). Their Finance and Accounting Team is seeking an Accounting Manager to assist with monthly and annual consolidated financial reporting requirements. This candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing efficient processes and controls

This position is on-site in Leesburg, VA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll.
  • Lead month-end close and financial statement preparation including journal entry review and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial reporting systems.
  • Implement/document processes and controls to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Partner with company controller to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Provide cross functional support to leadership throughout the organization to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with FP&A to perform ad-hoc financial and operational analyses as needed.

Your Qualificators:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA license, a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting related
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement and documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • QuickBooks experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued security clearance.
  • Must be willing to work full time in our Leesburg, Virginia office.

These Qualificators are a Plus:

  • Current or previous experience with a federal government. contractor and/or technology companies.
  • Previous public accounting experience is a plus.
