The Pre-Judgment Department plays a critical role in the collections process by handling cases before they reach the court judgment stage. This department focuses on preparing legal documents, managing case dockets, and developing strategies to resolve outstanding debts. Tasks include filing lawsuits, obtaining legal orders for collections, and working closely with clients to ensure compliance with legal procedures. The goal of the department as a whole is to efficiently manage cases to maximize recovery while adhering to legal standards and ethical guidelines.

The Assistant Manager of Legal Operations will play a crucial role in supporting the manager of the department in overseeing currently automated processes and continuing to develop new tools for the team. This role is vital in ensuring that the team functions efficiently, meets internal standards and compliance requirements, and exceeds strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have strong organization skills, an understanding of the legal process, strong technical skills, and the ability of manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee document preparation and ensure accuracy for filing lawsuits and obtaining court orders.
  • Assist in development and implementation of legal department projects, including tracking deadlines, progress, and deliverables
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between legal operations and other key departments within the organization
  • Monitor and report on legal department performance metrics and KPIs - identifying trends and areas for improvement regularly
  • Conduct case docket reviews to monitor the progress of each case and manage inventory.
  • Develop and improve department processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in handling pre-judgment cases.
  • Manage projects and meet deadlines in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Experience working both independently and within a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
