JOB SUMMARY
Are you a seasoned Cyber Engineer with a passion for leading incident response efforts in high-stakes environments? We are seeking a Cyber Engineer - Senior II to join our elite team based in Dulles, VA. In this role, you will lead cyber incident response actions in a 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC), providing expert technical direction and ensuring the security of critical systems and networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Incident Response Leadership: Lead and manage cyber incident response activities in a 24x7 shift environment, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents. Report incidents to stakeholders and leadership through the CIRT ticketing system and other communication channels.
Technical Direction: Provide expert-level guidance to the shift team in detecting, responding to, mitigating, and reporting cyber threats affecting customer on-premises systems, networks, and cloud environments.
Threat Analysis & Reporting: Produce detailed reports and briefs that accurately depict the current threat landscape and associated risks based on customer, community, and open-source intelligence.Cyber Threat Monitoring: Analyze and report on cyber threats, assisting in deterring, identifying, monitoring, investigating, and analyzing computer network intrusions.Training & Development: Develop and implement comprehensive training standards and procedures, including Work Instructions, Joint Qualification Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures. Oversee the training and onboarding of newly assigned analysts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
U.S. Citizenship is required
*Active Top Secret clearance
*Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
*Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
*6+ years of directly relevant experience in cybersecurity
*5+ years of experience leading incident response teams in a SOC, CSOC, or CIRT environment.
Hands-on experience in SOC/CIRT environments performing detection, response, mitigation, and reporting of cyber threats
Strong knowledge and experience in computer intrusion analysis, network protocols, secure architectures, and incident response operations.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level II Technical Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP, CISSP)
Incident Response Certification (e.g., CEH, ECIH, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, GNFA)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud-based cyber detection and incident response.
Forensics & Analysis: Experience in computer evidence seizure, intrusion detection, forensic analysis, or data recovery.
SIEM Technologies: Prior experience with SIEM technologies, particularly Splunk.Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Linux/Windows command line, Python, Perl).Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
Educational Requirements:Degree: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cyber Engineering, or a related discipline is required. (8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement, totaling fourteen or more years of experience.)
