Job Summary: Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of walk-in customers and visitors. Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
  • Serve as a first point of contact for walk-in visitors and customers.
  • Promptly answer customer inquiries in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner
  • Manage all counter activities such as answering inbound calls and following up with customers by phone or email as needed.
  • Using a forklift to assist customers with loading and unloading their trucks.
  • Assist in inventory management in the showroom.
  • Collaborate closely with the warehouse team to provide timely service to customers.
  • Forward new opportunities to the appropriate sales team for further development and closing.
  • Purchasing, maintaining and merchandising store inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your area of knowledge and expertise:
Preferred qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-3 years of counter sales experience with a lumber yard or similar business
  • Proven ability to provide consistent, professional customer service.
Skills:
  • Problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work productively in teams with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
 Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent carrying and lifting - Must be able to lift 80+ pounds
  • Frequently standing for long periods of time
  • Work Environment: works inside and in outside weather conditions.
