COMPUTER VISION ENGINEER

Seeking an experienced Computer Vision Engineer for an automotive company specializing in autonomous vehicle technology and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The Computer Vision Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing computer vision algorithms to enhance the perception capabilities of autonomous vehicles. You will work closely with the software development and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and real-time performance. This role requires expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and a strong understanding of image processing techniques.

Hourly Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement computer vision algorithms to improve the perception capabilities of autonomous vehicles.

  • Design and optimize image processing pipelines for real-time performance and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate computer vision systems with vehicle platforms.

  • Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning.

  • Analyze and annotate large datasets to train and validate computer vision models.

  • Perform rigorous testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and robustness of vision systems.

  • Document technical specifications, development processes, and research findings.

  • Present results and recommendations to stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.

  • Experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks, such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

  • Knowledge of image processing techniques, feature extraction, and object detection.

  • Familiarity with deep learning architectures for vision tasks, such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience in the automotive industry or with autonomous vehicle technologies.

  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and real-time processing environments.

  • Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques and working with data from cameras, LiDAR, and radar.

  • Certification in computer vision or machine learning.
