Job DescriptionJob Description

Sensory Technician



Collaborate with the sensory team to execute sensory research testing and training in order to provide insights that guide successful food and beverage product development.

Project Execution

Collaborate with Sensory and FC&A staff on the logistics and execution of internal testing

Assist panel leaders with sample preparation and serving for the descriptive panel

Follow proper protocols, anticipate and troubleshoot problems providing recommendations for improvement of sensory testing

Support language training (ie - references, language sheets, etc.)

Order and shop for supplies and/or samples for Sensory team


Facility Management

Maintain a safe and high-quality laboratory environment

Order and maintain supply of lab materials and equipment


System Ownership

Compusense power user for sensory team

Maintain panelist databases

Create tests, surveys and schedules

Run reports

Learn and use Givaudans internal systems, including, but not limited to, FPR, Atlas, Insights Hub, Aroma Sniff, ATOM


Data Collection

Ensure logistics of testing session is followed including, but not limited to,

Panel recruitment

Preparation and serving of samples

Problem solving throughout test (i.e. - software or computer issues)


Competencies:

Knowledge of sensory science is a plus, but not a requirement

Meets the physical requirements of the job (e.g. can stand for long periods of time, can move a VAS / set up equipment, etc.)

Strong written and verbal communication

Critical thinker

Attention to detail

Takes initiative, self starter
