Supervises: Learning Programs assistant, Mentors/educators for grant-contingent programs (to be hired), contingent staff and interns as needed.

Job Summary: This position will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing programs and partnerships for non-school audiences, particularly early childhood, teen programming, families with children, and people with disabilities, in alignment with CMA’s learning frameworks and collections.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Youth & Family Programming
- Organize and lead (with the involvement of other Learning staff and partners) current studio-based programs including Open Studio, Summer Art Workshops, and Homeschool Workshops.
- Provide support for cross-departmental events including community days and other public programs.
- Work with Manager for Community Engagement to develop dynamic and intentional experiences related to special exhibitions, cultural celebrations, and school breaks.
- Support expansion of early childhood offerings including multi-sensory tours for ages 0-5 and their caregivers.
New Program Development Teen & Young Adult Audiences
- Work closely with team to prototype and pilot new experiences for key, out-of-school audiences (including 0–5-year-olds and their caregivers, teens, and young adults), aligned with CMA’s learning frameworks and collections/exhibitions.
- Manage multiple administrative aspects of program development and execution, including grant writing and reporting; contingent staff hiring, training, and supervision; and scheduling.
- Support CMA’s L&E offerings to be:
- More welcoming and inclusive for learners with disabilities.
- More culturally competent including:
- Researching best practices.
- Building relationships with partner organizations.
- Prototyping and piloting multi-sensory experiences and resources for guests in alignment with CMA’s Accessibility Plan, guidance from advisory panel, and field-wide resources.
- Collaboration with Learning, Engagement, and Experience teams.
Administration
- Work with Marketing to promote programs and ensure program presence on CMA’s social media, e-newsletters, and website.
- Support the Advancement department in grant applications and reporting.
- Develop assessment tools to measure the impact of programs; reflect and adjust.
- Development of and monitor program budgets.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, arts education or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in museum education or related roles, with a focus on family and youth programming and comfort working directly with children.
- Experience working with audiences with disabilities, particularly Universal Design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and adults, colleagues and diverse partners.
