POSITION PURPOSE

The Visual Media Lead will help lead the operations Visual Media team with the department Director, combining leadership with hands-on photography and videography execution. This role emphasizes leadership while focusing primarily on photography, including the management and execution of high-quality imagery and videos for our clients in the construction and commercial real estate industry.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Photography & Videography Services

  • Lead and execute high-quality photo and video shoots, including construction sites, commercial properties, portraits, and events.
  • Develop concepts, plan, and execute photo and video shoots in collaboration with marketing and design teams and clients.
  • Deliver visually compelling content that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Conduct post-production editing and ensure timely delivery of images and videos.


Photo Client Services

  • Coordinate, book, and execute various client needs such as headshots, portraits, architecture, progress photos, and event coverage.
  • Perform advanced retouching for photos to aid designers.
  • Backup and archive current and past projects.
  • Maintain and coordinate repairs for visual media gear and organize the studio space.
  • Research equipment and technology to stay current with trends.


Videography

  • Provide video services including storyboarding, strategy, question and script development, shoot coordination and direction, on-site shoots, editing, and animation.
  • Create videos and gifs for Small Giants and client social media.


Leadership

  • Lead the Visual Media team through growth plans and goal setting.
  • Oversee and be accountable for annual Visual Media team strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement the annual Visual Media department initiatives calendar.
  • Act as the face of the Visual Media team through client relationship management.
  • Lead photo and video prospecting and follow-ups.


REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of professional photography experience.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • High level of detail for quality control
  • Professional portfolio showcasing high-quality photography and videography.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One – Standard proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other relevant software.
  • Expertise in strobe lighting (studio and location).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage equipment, files, and project timelines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to various locations for on-site shoots.


DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Tether capture knowledge.
  • Advanced retouching skills (frequency separation).
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Digital compositing skills.
  • Part 107 Drone Certification.
  • Expertise in architectural, interior, and exterior photography.
  • Knowledge of lighting techniques and equipment for various shooting environments.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Ability to hold the arm and hand steady while moving the arm.
  • Ability to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
