The Production Manager plans and executes production activities to align with organization objectives including safety, compliance, quality, on-time delivery and an engaged and productive workforce.

Works directly with Plant Manager to ensure alignment daily.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

  • Coordinates production in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures. Ensures seamless communication and execution of production plan by leveraging partnerships with cross functional groups such as planning, purchasing, manufacturing & quality engineering, maintenance, safety and human resources.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Understands production capacities and deploys resources appropriately to maximize throughput.
  • Tracks daily output vs target. Engages cross functional team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
  • Follows all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Manufacturing and/or Assembly of firearm components.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate company Vision, Mission, and Values and align functional goals, KPI’s and objectives accordingly.

Educational Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or associate degree with 5-8 years’ experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CNC Lathe/Mill/Wire/Sinker Operating/Set Up Experience required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Outlook and Access)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and practices including 5S is required.
