Job Description
The principal responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include supervising the daily activities of the Production staff assigned to their shift, scheduling equipment maintenance as required, monitoring production processes to ensure the cost effective and timely delivery of product fit for its intended use to meet customer needs and commercial schedule.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Effectively utilizes manpower, materials and equipment to produce quality products fit for their intended use, in a safe manner and at the optimum level of productivity to maximize business unit profitability.
- Ensures that all work is performed in compliance with Company SOPs, FDA CGMPs, DEA regulations and all local, state and federal regulations regarding safety, health and the environment.
- Ensures that both the facility and pharmaceutical systems documentation are maintained in compliance with Company and FDA/CGMP and DEA regulations and practices.
- Ensures that waste is appropriately characterized, labeled, stored and disposed in compliance with all Company, state and federal regulations. Works collaboratively with Environmental, Health & Safety, as appropriate.
- Assures all production/support equipment is in proper operating condition and that all production equipment is appropriately labeled with a current status tag. Works collaboratively with Maintenance, as appropriate.
- Ensures the security and safe handling of all controlled substances at all times. Strictly adheres to all Company and DEA regulations.
- Promptly reports all incidents in the correct manner, according to procedure and completes investigations as necessary.
- Promotes a positive work environment by maintaining a safe work area and ensuring that their team members have the knowledge, skills and appropriate tools to perform their assigned duties and a thorough understanding of their performance expectations.
- Administers Company policies fairly and consistently.
- Write and suggest improvements for Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records (MBRs) and other related GMP documents
- Responsible for contributing to audit readiness and for participating in quality and safety audits with FDA, other Regulatory Agencies, internal audits, and customers, as needed.
- Responsible for planning, delegating, and monitoring assigned work tasks that are completed during shifts.
- Accountable for the growth and discipline of team members.
Qualifications
- AA Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years API experience
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 5-7 years pharmaceutical experience
- Experienced in cGMP manufacturing
- Experience with Microsoft Office and other job-related software
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to independently apply scientific and/or technical principals
- Team leadership or supervisory experience
- Solid understanding of GMP and FDA regulations
- Good mechanical aptitude
