Job Description

We are currently looking for a full-time Chassis and Active Safety Technician in Adelanto,CA with mandatory travel based on company needs.

As part of the Chassis testing team, testing technician will be responsible to execute testing and instrumentation activities as regards Chassis and Active Safety systems: ADAS, Brakes, Vehicle Dynamics and Electronic Chassis Control Systems. The role requires someone highly organized, objectively focused, and with ability to manage their own daily routine.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive test vehicle, perform visual inspection and keep a vehicle receiving log.
  • Organize the tests samples (vehicle and test parts).
  • Install sensors and data acquisition equipment as required for each test standard.
  • Configure test equipment according to the test standard.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix issues found during testing.
  • Transport the instrumented test vehicle to the proving ground test facilities (around 120 miles roundtrip).
  • Ensure that test activities are performed in accordance with the test procedures and test books/checklists. Collect and record all data necessary for the completion of the test report.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance is being performed as scheduled and/or as needed to keep equipment highly functional.
  • Conduct comfort evaluation driving on predetermined public roads routes.
  • Drive and perform the vehicle testing at off-site customer proving ground locations.
  • Record when required the videos of the vehicle test maneuvers run in the proving ground with the provided video camera.
  • Report to a Test Engineer the data generated, progress and status of the tasks deployed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; two-year technical degree or prior trade experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a testing environment.
  • Automotive technical knowledge of main vehicle component functions and behavior.
  • Experience with sensors installation, data acquisition instrumentation and objective vehicle testing is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the operation of computers with various software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to utilize various tools and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in projects and a continuously evolving industry. Must be able to improvise.
  • Must be a team player. Must be able to work within and across various company departments.

  • Must be able to stand, walk up and down hills, bend, kneel, sit for lengthy periods, and use hands for various functions such as typing and using various hand tools.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions for long periods of time.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work extended hours. Mandatory overtime and weekends may be required.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Passionate of the automotive world.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
  • Committed with strong service orientation.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license
  • Proficient in driving a pickup truck/vehicle trailer combo (Class C requirements)
