DLS is looking for a talented and passionate Cell Processing Specialist I to join our dynamic Cell & Gene Therapy team. As a Cell Processing Specialist I, you play a crucial role in providing support to the Cell & Gene Therapy team. Your responsibilities will include processing and isolating human and primary cells, while providing quality control analysis.
 
A Day in the Life of a Cell Processing Specialist I at Discovery Life Sciences:
• Processing primary human blood using centrifugation.
• Preparing buffers, reagents, and other laboratory consumables.
• Washing and maintaining lab-ware.
• Validating new SOPs/equipments.

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
• Associate’s degree in Life Sciences. Bachelors degree is a plus
• Able to learn and operate standard laboratory equipment.
• Able to read, interpret, and communicate basic technical documents.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to accurately follow work instructions and meet project timelines.
• Ability to work overtime.


Key Responsibilities:
• Processing primary human blood using centrifugation
• Isolating human primary cells using immunomagnetic isolation technology.
• Generating electronic & written records based upon testing and analysis of cell and/or tissue samples.
• Maintaining and organizing laboratory work area, consumables, and equipment.
• Preparing buffers, reagents, and other laboratory consumables.
• Testing cell culture media and reagents.
• Washing and maintaining lab-ware.
• Reporting out-of-specification products to managers.
• Handling and disposing of biological waste.
• Complying with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Maintaining finished goods inventory.
• Performing QA/QC on finished goods.
• Maintaining equipment.
• Training new lab staff.
• Validating new SOPs/equipments.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here
• Other duties as assigned.
• Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position. Role is required ON-SITE
