Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Civil Engineer to join our team in Boston. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil engineering, with a proven track record in managing and executing large-scale construction projects. As a Heavy Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage heavy civil engineering projects, including marine construction, bridge construction, ventilation systems, railroad infrastructure, and sewer/drain/water utilities.
  • Design and Planning: Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed engineering designs and plans. Ensure designs meet all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee construction activities on-site, including coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor project progress and quality, conducting inspections and ensuring that all work meets company and industry standards.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address engineering and construction issues as they arise, providing solutions to ensure project success.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress.
  • Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Heavy Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil engineering, preferably with a focus on marine construction, bridge building, railroad infrastructure, or utilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software and tools, including CAD and project management software.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
