Job DescriptionJob Description

We are currently seeking a Distribution Center Manager for our company’s Distribution Center located in Madison, Mississippi. This role will have responsibility for the overall operations of a distribution center and its employees. It is a one shift facility with 25-30 employees in exempt and non-exempt roles. Typical hours are 6:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime. Business needs will dictate any expansion of hours or shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the operations of a growing and evolving Distribution Center
  • Support and lead relevant areas in ERP implementation.
  • Review costs and service quality and modifies order production and inventory control.
  • programs to maintain and enhance efficiencies of the facility.
  • Ensures compliance with service quality standards for Hunter’s customers.
  • The Distribution Manager must be skilled in root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement in the warehouse and in office management.
  • Implement and document an appropriate performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.
  • Coordinate activities through planning with Plant Management, Logistics, and department managers to ensure the company objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review daily order production and operating reports and direct the resolution of
  • operational and fulfillment problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent customer delivery delays.
  • Ensure all warehouse and distribution functions operate productively and efficiently.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in a distribution or warehousing environment in a leadership role
  • Experience dealing with ERPs and logistics systems is necessary to be successful in this role.
  • Leadership experience in Operations and Distribution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related area.
  • Experience dealing with Fulfillment, Logistics, Production, Supply Chain and Demand,
  • Distribution; and Third-Party Logistics
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory planning/capacity planning
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • A high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining the company core values and culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Evidence of professional maturity, self-confidence, and executive presence.
