Job Summary:

Responsible for constructing project components from technical drawings and assembling various elements into custom, multi-faceted exhibits. The role involves fabricating a range of products using tools, machines, and manual skills.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Read and interpret technical prints
  • Cut and fit pieces to precise tolerances
  • Weld using MIG/TIG machines with a focus on aesthetic quality
  • Work with diverse materials (aluminum, steel, composites, acrylic, etc.)
  • Perform finish work on fabricated components
  • Manage projects of varying sizes from start to finish
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Solve problems as they arise, particularly in custom, one-off jobs
  • Use a variety of shop tools, including saws, grinders, and air tools
  • Adapt skills to other areas such as carpentry or electrical work as needed
  • Adhere to safety policies while performing tasks


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of fabrication experience
  • Certified Welder


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Welding and Fabricating


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Perform general labor tasks as needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of product positioning, competitive landscape, and client needs
  • Assess the level of effort required to achieve results
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Stand for extended periods (8 hours or more)
  • Rotate head, neck, and shoulders to the right and left
  • Use arms and legs to lift equipment or machinery
  • Handle tasks requiring manual dexterity, including using keyboards and controls
  • Communicate verbally and listen effectively
  • Walk, stand, and reach above shoulders
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders or steps to work at heights up to 13 feet
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Specific hearing requirements include the ability to hear conversations over the phone and face-to-face
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment
  • Availability for work beyond a 40-hour workweek


Equipment and Tools Utilized:

  • Arc Welder, TIG torches, Grinder, Arc cutter, Plasma cutter, Safety gloves and helmet, Fasteners, Various angle grinder discs, Throat-less Shear, Wire cutters. This is not an exhaustive list of equipment and tools.
