Offshore Project Manager

The Offshore Project Manager is a critical, role reporting to the Operations Manager and the relevant onshore Project Manager. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of offshore projects, combining responsibilities of project management and advanced survey operations. You will act as the Company Project/Operations representative offshore, holding full responsibility and accountability for all project and survey activities, managing all interfaces with the vessel Captain, Offshore Client Representative, and Project support functions.

When onshore, you will support project planning, mobilisation, data acquisition, offshore data processing, and demobilisation, working closely with project teams to meet client objectives and maintain high standards of quality control and assurance.


Objectives & Responsibilities:

HSEQ Management:

  • Create and maintain a safe operational environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety processes, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and manage offshore incidents.
  • Identify and close gaps in project documentation.
  • Project and Vessel Management:

    • Assist in preparing mobilisation and installation procedures.
    • Plan, organise, and schedule offshore operations.
    • Manage project mobilisation, offshore operations, and demobilisation.
    • Coordinate with various managers and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Survey Operations:

    • Lead survey mobilisation, data acquisition, offshore data processing, and demobilisation.
    • Ensure all equipment is tested, calibrated, and functional.
    • Maintain survey data processing and workflow.

    Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the main point of contact between the Offshore Client Representative, Vessel Captain, onboard Support Functions, and Onshore PM.
    • Liaise with onshore ships agents and 3rd party contractors.
  • Leadership and Supervision:

    • Lead and mentor the offshore project and survey team.
    • Provide thorough inductions and onboarding for new team members.
  • Reporting:

    • Complete all required offshore reports and documents accurately and timely.
    • Promote the capturing and implementation of lessons learned.

  • Significant offshore project management experience leading and managing cross-functional technical teams, including ROV and hydrographic survey operations.
  • Degree in Hydrographic Surveying or related discipline (or significant relevant experience).
  • Valid GWO training, OGUK medical and BOSIET certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of ROV survey data acquisition, reporting, and processing.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to resolve issues offshore.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in dynamic environments.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
