What is the role?

You will lead a team that maintains client’s accounting and financial records.  You will ensure that financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful.  Identifying, and oftentimes implementing, solutions to client’s biggest challenges in month-end and bookkeeping.


You will manage the day-to-day performance of client projects.  Take ownership of end products and relationships.


You will participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of approaches.  You will contribute to developing tailor-made solutions. You will work closely with clients to ensure impact, results, and continuous sustainment of changes.


You will guide and develop individual team members and ensure they have the support they need to learn and grow.

Who, what, and how?

  • Based out of Tampa, FL
  • Leading a team of 2-6 accountants and accounting personnel across multiple industries including medical, manufacturing, restaurants, real estate, professional services, and construction.
  • You will work within your team and cross functional with other departments such as CFO/Controller, Business Optimization, Technology, etc.
  • You will be joining a growing firm that invests in your development as a leader and believes in your ability to make profound impacts on clients and their teams.
    • You will receive 1on1 development including leading high-performance teams, effective communication with stakeholders, execs and individuals, structure and execution of problem solving.
  • Local travel to client sites is sometimes required.

 

Other abilities required.

  • Mastery of Accounting Principles.
  • Monitor and review financial documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Establish and oversee processes for maintaining documentation and accounting integrity.
  • Ability to switch cross-functional between multiple engagements.
  • Ability to document and maintain concise, relevant notes on complex matters.
  • Month-end management and review of:
    • Closing cycle and timelines
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • P&L analysis
    • Cash Flow analysis
    • Financial statements preparation and notation
  • Day-to-day management of processes and execution of:
    • Payroll
    • Invoices and transactional (AR and AP)
    • Sales tax
    • Deposits and cash application
    • Check runs and bill pay
    • Receivables collection
  • Ensure timely and effective disbursement of reporting packages both internally and externally to various stakeholders.
  • Support audit and tax preparations.
  • Ensure and drive compliance to client’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Performance and review of detailed and complex account reconciliations.


Minimum qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Masters or Bachelors in accounting.
  • 5-7 years accounting experience. 3+ years of experience in a similar role. 
    • Experience as a consultant in a professional services firm, preferred.
  • Understanding and history in working with Manufacturing, BOM/Kits, and Inventory.
  • Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to lead and project manage teams of people towards common objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite. (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
