Overview
We are currently seeking an Microsoft Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role supporting our HQ’s in Glen Burnie, MD. The position will work with the IT Director to streamline and secure our current infrastructure and work to formulate a plan to move systems to the cloud in the future.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to bring the latest technologies into our environment to update and secure everything from network hardware to cloud hosting applications.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the network infrastructure to include hardware, software and cloud technologies
  • Deploy Office/Microsoft 365 Environments
  • Deploy Azure AD Environments
  • Deploy advanced Microsoft 365 Services including Enterprise and Mobility
  • Architect Office/Microsoft 365 Service Environments
  • Maintenance of on-premise and Azure Active Directory environments including Group Policies
  • Deployment of Infrastructure improvements on Client environments
  • Maintain SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams environments
  • Maintain and enhance backup strategy using VEEAM
  • Maintain and configure Firewall policies
  • Be able to manage internal SAN and NAS environment
  • Manage network infrastructure to include switches, routers and access points
  • Assist in maintaining and deploying other Client applications and environments
  • Leading initiatives for researching and deploying new applications
  • Leading IT Projects for Clients
  • Coordinating various IT Staff and Operations
  • Provide guidance and leadership as a Senior staff member of the team
  • Assist in managing Support Services and related deliverables
  • Working with End-Users and Vendors to support applications and environments
  • Working with Client Stakeholders on strategy and vision
  • Meeting regularly with Clients and attend Client meetings and engaging Executive Management
  • Supporting Client initiatives remotely and on-premise
  • Routine network maintenance in various Microsoft environments

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of IT support experience
  • 1+ year of advanced Microsoft 365 experience
  • Solid experience in support management roles
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with MS Azure, Defender, Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune
  • Microsoft cloud certifications a plus
  • Having a worked in a highly motivated, fast-paced, critical support role
  • An excellent reputation for support to end-users and leading teams
  • Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
  • Ability to meet deadlines with Projects and Assignments
  • Ability to learn and support new technologies and train others

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / MIS / business administration or a related discipline

Education / Certifications
  • BA in computer science or related field.
    • Certifications may be considered in lieu of college degree
