Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities and Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations across our four restaurants within the VE Hospitality Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, and general facility maintenance. The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance issues are addressed promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth operation in our restaurants.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Oversight:
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility components.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and installations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and expenditures.
  • Kitchen Equipment Expertise:
    • Possess a strong understanding of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and dishwashers.
    • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on kitchen equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
    • Coordinate with kitchen staff to address any equipment issues and provide training on proper usage and maintenance procedures.
  • Refrigeration System Management:
    • Monitor and maintain refrigeration systems to ensure food safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Troubleshoot refrigeration issues and perform repairs or arrange for professional service when necessary.
    • Implement preventive maintenance measures to extend the lifespan of refrigeration equipment and minimize downtime.
  • General Maintenance:
    • Oversee general maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
    • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests from restaurant managers and staff.
    • Ensure that all facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Facilities and Maintenance Manager or similar role in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong background in kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Expertise in refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certification or vocational training in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Clean driver’s license
