Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team at our Baltimore incinerator facility. The purpose of the role is to provide hands-on HR Business partnership to Functional Leaders and oversee all HR activity for employees within the assigned district (s). The HRBP acts as a change agent and demonstrates the ability to successfully support and launch key HR initiatives while ensuring a high level of engagement from employees and front-line leaders. This position is responsible for the fair and consistent administration of all human resources policies and practices. The HRBP maintains updated knowledge and compliance of local laws/legal procedures and collaborates extensively with our leaders to ensure all Company policies are followed and adhere to rules and regulations in the region/district.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Partnership:

  • Collaborate with Incinerator and District leadership to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conducts regular employee connects and one on one discussions, Drive Top Talent Connects and Leadership Connects for the location and district, Conduct Skip Level Meetings.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Assures fair and consistent administration of all human resources policies and practices; comprehends, interprets, and applies the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, and policies.
  • Conducts employee investigations and resolves complex employee relations issues.

Talent Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs to integrate new hires effectively into the company culture and provides an effective Onboarding Experiences for all new hires which includes pre-day one activities, New Hire orientation, and other necessary on-boarding activities.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate relevant programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.

Compliance and Policies:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and communicated effectively.
  • Assist in audits and compliance reporting as needed.

Performance Management:

  • Drive the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to front line leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans).

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on HR activities and outcomes to management.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR colleagues to support HR initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinates and partners closely with business leaders to effectively implement all HR strategies, programs, policies, and initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Previous multisite experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software (Paylocity is a Plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
  • Travel Requirements 30%
  • This is an on-site position and based out of our Incinerator in Baltimore, MD.
