Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the Site Director with the day-to-day functioning of the site including staff supervision, scheduling, parent communications, and adherence to state regulations and emergency intervention management.


PROGRAM OVERSIGHT

  • Plans and implements all monthly drills in the Center.
  • Communicates all Incident Reports to the Site Director and Director of Compliance/Quality Improvement.
  • Assists in maintaining an accurate Openings Report on all Center clients and staff.
  • Assists with client snack and meal prep including the administrative duties associated with the food program.
  • Assists with record keeping measures as identified by the team to maintain accurate billings and corrections of FamCare reports.
  • Maintains accurate tracking and reporting on all receipts incurred from Center expenses.
  • Assists with the client transition coordination to developmentally and age-appropriate classrooms.
  • Assists with maintaining a neat, safe, and attractive Center-based environment by ensuring opening and closing classroom duties are completed regularly and timely (dishes, trash, floors, etc.).
  • Supports in classrooms when needed and abides by the Teacher, Head Start Teacher, Paraprofessional, and/or Administrative Assistant job descriptions.
  • Follows, trains others, and assists in the compliance of all regulations set by Nebraska Child Care Licensing and Children’s Day Health Services Regulations and the Head Start program.
  • Recognizes and acts against hazards of safety in collaboration with the Site Director and Maintenance.
  • Assists the Site Director in operating within budget guidelines and makes recommendations for cost containment and revenue opportunities.
  • Accepts new and/or additional duties as assigned by management.

STAFF SUPERVISION AND OVERSIGHT

  • Models the behavior and attitude expectations aligned with our core values to ensure a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Assists with receiving staff call in’s regarding absences and coordinates applicable staffing schedules.
  • Assists with staff adjustments based on client attendance.
  • Assists with staff meal breaks and ensures ratio compliance and excellent client care.
  • Assists and provides mentoring to new staff including but not limited to: training Teachers, Head Start Teachers, and Paraprofessionals in the essential functions of their job in the classroom with committed follow up to ensure understanding and excellent care is being provided.
  • Ensures all PCAPS are sufficiently met in a timely manner.
  • Consistently applies and promotes CRCC’s personnel and operating policies and procedures including state regulations and accreditation standards.

FAMILY SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly greets parents, families and visitors during drop off and pick-up times.
  • Acknowledges the role of parents as primary caregivers by supporting their child rearing efforts.
  • Respectfully communicates with all parents and caregivers.
  • Helps to ensure that parents receive regular and adequate communication in regards to their child’s participation and progress at CRCC.
  • Offers support to families by accommodating special requests, suggesting resources and making referrals when appropriate.
  • Addresses parent concerns or complaints in calm, professional manner.
  • Contributes to positive community/center relations.
  • Assists with parent and family communications in collaboration with the ASD, Director of Site Operations, and the Director of Education.
  • Communicates with other agencies and schools providing services to enrolled clients as needed in collaboration with the Site Director and Director of Education.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possesses understanding, patience, and flexibility in dealing with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Communicates respectfully with all parents, guardians, caregivers, and staff.
  • Works to support CRCC’s mission statement and contributes to positive community/center relations.

  • Assists with parent and family communications in collaboration with the Site Director and/or Director of Education.
  • Willingly accepts guidance and respects input and suggestions.
  • Participates actively in service training and staff development programs.

  • Adheres to assigned work schedule.
  • Strives to maintain harmonious relationships and communication with all staff members by maintaining confidentiality regarding knowledge of classroom staff performance, attendance, accommodations, and other matters as they arise.
  • Keeps all information regarding staff, children, and their families confidential.
  • Assumes assigned responsibilities without need of continuous supervision and carries them out within a reasonable set timeframe.
  • Demonstrates pride in providing excellent client care and serves as a positive example for staff with regard to employee relations, policies, and procedures.
  • Shares own knowledge and expertise with other staff in carrying out educational program of CRCC.
  • Is alert, flexible, and supportive of the opportunities, which arise spontaneously from the environment, to help clients and staff learn from teachable moments.
  • Willingly accepts managements guidance (respects inputs and suggestions).

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in Education or related field required, bachelors preferred and proven experience working with children (preferably neurodiverse and/or medically complex) in a school or childcare setting required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or leading a diverse team of peers strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to complete required education hours (CEU) each year.
  • Possesses understanding, patience, and flexibility in dealing with clients, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Aide Training including a PowerPoint, quiz, and competency demonstrations signed by a Registered Nurse as required by Children’s Day Health Services regulations.
  • Ability to maintain valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Willing to increase knowledge in fields of endeavor or as required.
  • Ability and willingness to stand, walk, stoop, bend, pull, grasp on a continual basis for the entirety of the shift when necessary or is required.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and practices 2 person lifting for clients over 50 pounds or when necessary.
  • Ability to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children;
  • Ability to see and hear, with or without assistive devices, well enough to keep children safe and engaged in educational and play activities.
  • Ability to meet agency’s conditions of employment regarding health status, criminal history check, and clearance with the Nebraska Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry and/or Adult Abuse/Neglect Registry and FBI fingerprinting through the Nebraska State Patrol.
